gDiapers: My traveling diaper

I'll admit it. I like the convenience of a throw away diaper. I'm a working Mom, and I have someone who watches my baby while I'm at work. I'm sure that while she wouldn't mind the extra hassle of cloth, I am aware that she has a lot on her plate, and worrying about where to put the poo from the poopy diaper isn't one of them. (Besides, I HATE having to clean up poop... I blogged about it here.)
So, I use gDiapers. They are a hybrid diaper; cloth on the outside and papery pulp on the inside that will compost. (In my mind, this is becoming a trend with GroBaby coming out with Bio Soaker Pads and now BumGenius coming out with the Flip diapers.)
When the fam and I took Jo to Disneyland for her birthday back in June, we were gone for 5 days. I did still use pockets for my overnight diaper, with a wet bag, but I started that routine 2 days into the trip. The first two nights I do what I always do: gInsert, (maybe doubled,) with the little gPant, and then, a wool soaker over it. Tada! No leaks, no laundry!
If Vi had a poopy diaper that got a little messy, then it went into the wet bag. I could wash it when I got home. I swear, it's as easy as disposables without the rashes, worries, or concerns over environment. At the same time, it felt like cloth without the laundry.
Best of Both Worlds.
I need to edit to add that taking a few gPants, and the inserts adds very little bulk to my suitcase.

I'm Grateful Giveaway

Contest Closed.
Ahhh... today was one of those days. I feel that my creator was sending me gentle reminders that I am not alone. I had a good day at work, I found a missing diaper. Traffic wasn't so bad. The sun was shining and I got to enjoy some of it. Most importantly, my girls love me and I love them. We shared a moment and we're happy. I'm so grateful for all that I have.
How about you? Would you be grateful if I shared something with you? Sure you would!
I love keychains. There is something about them that are practical yet excessive. They say "Look, here I am! With the keys." And, I love CD advocacy items... Fluffy bums are something that should be shown off. So, with that, I bring you...
A Happy Heinys key chain. Brand new for you. For FREE. Cuz gosh darn it. I like you. Well, I liked today, so I'll like you too. Wanna know what it looks like? Check out their new bear print:
And now the legalities: Only open to US residents. Closes Thursday, October 1st at 5pm PST. Winner will be picked by random. Please leave your email address in your post or your profile so that I can get a hold of you if you are the winner. Winner will have 3 days to send me their mailing address or I will pick another winner.
To enter, leave a comment below stating what you are grateful for.
Extra entries? Sure, I'm feeling generous.
For one extra entry:
Tell me what cloth diaper you would like to get on sale or your diaper that you love the most.

Different Pocket Dipes

Have you tried Rocky Mountain Diapers? This is a different take on a one-size pocket diaper. Instead of having snaps on the front of the diaper to change the size, the snaps are on the leg elastic. Here's a picture that somewhat captures it:

They retail for $18.50. BUT at Kelly's Closet you can get them for $12.95 and free shipping today with the code "FALLBLOG". This doesn't include an insert, but if you're a fan of pocket diapers, you already have BumGenius inserts that will work just fine.

I think these are THE most absorbant diapers

I had the pleasure of testing a diaper for Katie Bubbles, mom behind 2 Cute 2 Resist. Wow. I liked the fit before: trim, one-size, long tabs, but then she changed the soaker. WOW. Huge improvement. Her soakers are now quilted, and they are fantastic. Think of goodmama's, but less squishy and more absorbent, and more TRIM. Here's a picture of my LO in the dipe:

Nice, right? Now, for the cheap catch: how about bargain diapers for $6.75? Shipping starts at $2.50 for the first diaper and a dollar for each additional. They are mostly girly, but check them out here. I got an All-in-One, and it appears she has a few pockets. You can't really beat less than $10 per diaper. And at that price, get two!
