Have ya met..

Have you met Diaper Decisions? Susie, over at Diaper Decisions sponsors the semi-annual Great Cloth Diaper Hunt. A bunch of diaper manufacturers and others get together to allow visitors to "hunt" for a little diaper (or is it an owl?) located on their website. *Wanna know a secret? Try purchasing a sponsor pack. For $15 you get a whole host of goodies including coupons for diapers and samples of diaper laundry detergent, soaps, etc. And that $15? Yeah, that includes shipping. Woo-hoo.

gDiapers: My traveling diaper

I'll admit it. I like the convenience of a throw away diaper. I'm a working Mom, and I have someone who watches my baby while I'm at work. I'm sure that while she wouldn't mind the extra hassle of cloth, I am aware that she has a lot on her plate, and worrying about where to put the poo from the poopy diaper isn't one of them. (Besides, I HATE having to clean up poop... I blogged about it here.)
So, I use gDiapers. They are a hybrid diaper; cloth on the outside and papery pulp on the inside that will compost. (In my mind, this is becoming a trend with GroBaby coming out with Bio Soaker Pads and now BumGenius coming out with the Flip diapers.)
When the fam and I took Jo to Disneyland for her birthday back in June, we were gone for 5 days. I did still use pockets for my overnight diaper, with a wet bag, but I started that routine 2 days into the trip. The first two nights I do what I always do: gInsert, (maybe doubled,) with the little gPant, and then, a wool soaker over it. Tada! No leaks, no laundry!
If Vi had a poopy diaper that got a little messy, then it went into the wet bag. I could wash it when I got home. I swear, it's as easy as disposables without the rashes, worries, or concerns over environment. At the same time, it felt like cloth without the laundry.
Best of Both Worlds.
I need to edit to add that taking a few gPants, and the inserts adds very little bulk to my suitcase.

I'm Grateful Giveaway

Contest Closed.
Ahhh... today was one of those days. I feel that my creator was sending me gentle reminders that I am not alone. I had a good day at work, I found a missing diaper. Traffic wasn't so bad. The sun was shining and I got to enjoy some of it. Most importantly, my girls love me and I love them. We shared a moment and we're happy. I'm so grateful for all that I have.
How about you? Would you be grateful if I shared something with you? Sure you would!
I love keychains. There is something about them that are practical yet excessive. They say "Look, here I am! With the keys." And, I love CD advocacy items... Fluffy bums are something that should be shown off. So, with that, I bring you...
A Happy Heinys key chain. Brand new for you. For FREE. Cuz gosh darn it. I like you. Well, I liked today, so I'll like you too. Wanna know what it looks like? Check out their new bear print:
And now the legalities: Only open to US residents. Closes Thursday, October 1st at 5pm PST. Winner will be picked by random. Please leave your email address in your post or your profile so that I can get a hold of you if you are the winner. Winner will have 3 days to send me their mailing address or I will pick another winner.
To enter, leave a comment below stating what you are grateful for.
Extra entries? Sure, I'm feeling generous.
For one extra entry:
Tell me what cloth diaper you would like to get on sale or your diaper that you love the most.

Different Pocket Dipes

Have you tried Rocky Mountain Diapers? This is a different take on a one-size pocket diaper. Instead of having snaps on the front of the diaper to change the size, the snaps are on the leg elastic. Here's a picture that somewhat captures it:

They retail for $18.50. BUT at Kelly's Closet you can get them for $12.95 and free shipping today with the code "FALLBLOG". This doesn't include an insert, but if you're a fan of pocket diapers, you already have BumGenius inserts that will work just fine.

I think these are THE most absorbant diapers

I had the pleasure of testing a diaper for Katie Bubbles, mom behind 2 Cute 2 Resist. Wow. I liked the fit before: trim, one-size, long tabs, but then she changed the soaker. WOW. Huge improvement. Her soakers are now quilted, and they are fantastic. Think of goodmama's, but less squishy and more absorbent, and more TRIM. Here's a picture of my LO in the dipe:

Nice, right? Now, for the cheap catch: how about bargain diapers for $6.75? Shipping starts at $2.50 for the first diaper and a dollar for each additional. They are mostly girly, but check them out here. I got an All-in-One, and it appears she has a few pockets. You can't really beat less than $10 per diaper. And at that price, get two!

It's the sales!

Well, I wanted to wait to post this (I need my diapers, too ya know?) BUT, I wanted to let you know about the sales going on around the fluff sphere. BumGenius? Seconds sale. They include inserts. $12. Twelve dollars. Yup. Go to cottonbabies.com and check out their FREE, (that's right, FREE) tab fix kits.
Next up, one of the ladies in my diaper circle group has opened up her own store, sweetbabybottoms.com. And right now until September 5th, if you spend over $50, you can get 20% off AND free shipping (in the US) using the code "CRAZY". Don't have over $50 worth to get? That's okay; she's still offering FREE SHIPPING. No code needed. Crazy, huh?
Speaking of free shipping (I love free shipping), Christine over at essential saltes baby is offering free shipping this week your order. It's also good through Saturday.
Have fun shopping!

Baby, Half off!

How does a AIO for 10 bucks sound? Good?
Then go to babyhalfoff.com.
Serriously, go. They are almost sold out of Urban Fluff AIOs. Today only!

Edit:
I did further research and I found that their own website is doing a clearance as well:
http://www.urban-fluff.com/index.php...duct_list&c=38

Happy shopping!

Have ya met...

Have ya met Babyearth.com? Every weekday morning (sorry if you are reading this on Saturday,) they have gaga deals. Each hour, at the top of the hour, they present some item for sale, at retail price. Then, as the hour ticks away, so does the price. So, after a half hour, the item would be 50% off. You do still have to pay a shipping charge if the item is less than $99. And, they have completely random items, but all of them are their in-store stock, and they do carry brands like bumgenius, fuzzibunz, and bumkins. Look what they had a few weeks ago:
So, keep an eye out and good luck finding the deal that makes you go GaGa!

I found 'em!

If you didn't know, I'll tell you: BumGenius is discontinuing their AIOs with hook and loop closures. They've (and us as consumers) have decided to go with snaps instead. SOOOOOOO, if you're like me, you've seen BumGenius AIO diapers with hook and loop closures go on clearance across the internet. Uh-huh. Well I found them for HALF off. That's right BG AIOs for $12.95. Wow. There seems to be limited selection, but shipping seems reasonable ($2.50 for the first) and they are available in all sizes here, at the Cool Cloth Diapers Online Shop.

How's that for clearance?

Did you see it?

On Saturday, August 15, there was a sale at goodmama. Everything was 50% off and it was combined with the buy 2 get 1 sale. Did you see it? I missed it. I was at a baby shower. I am now going to apologize to my readers (all 5 of you) for missing it. I'm very sorry I missed it. Okay. Now I'm over it. Moving on...
There are lots of other sales going on right now. Like Rumparooz? Use the code "indianSUM09" for 10% off through August 31. And what about the gdiaper covers? They're 20% off and you can get an extra $5 with the code "SweetThanks" until August 20. The Muttaqin diapers are also buy 2 get 1 free. Hmmm... Free.... my favorite type of diaper.
Do you have a diaper that you would LOVE me to keep a look out for? Let me know!

My Favorite Diaper

I hate it when people ask me which type of cloth diaper is my favorite. Which one do use the most? Ha. That's like asking me which daughter I love best.
I do, however, have a favorite... A FREE DIAPER! That's right, I'm cheap, and if it's free then I love it. I do, I do. I'll never knock a free item. (Hey, ya get what you pay for, right?) And if it's not love, then there is always diaperswappers. More on diaperswappers later. But now, the goods:
Disclaimer - These are all sweepstakes. If you don't like entering sweepstakes, or giveaways, GREAT! Better odds for me. But, I assure you, SOMEONE has to win, and it could be you. So there.
1. Adorabumz Diaper Cover Check it out for a coupon code, too!
Ends: August 24
2. Booroi Diaper Cover

3. Fuzzi Bunz 3 Pack!!! (3 free diapers! OMG!)

Looking Back

It's a Carnival! Find other mamas who use cloth diapers. Cloth Diapering Bloggers has been founded. Our first carnival is what you wish you would have known then that you know now.

I CD both my girls, and Jo is now 4 years old. With her, I used a diaper service. OH MY GOSH. You're telling me that I could have investing in goodmamas, or bumgenious and then I wouldn't have had to buy any for Vi? *Smacks forehead several times.*

You see, I'm afraid of poop. Well, not just poop, but most bodily fluids. Throw up, spit, blood, you name it, it pretty much grosses me out. I mean it. If a toilet is about to overflow, I run and hide. I didn't even change my first diaper until after Jo was 5 weeks old. (Yeah, my hubby IS that great.)

But, if I would have know how E A S Y it is to wash cloth diapers, I could have saved hundreds of dollars on new diapers for #2. I hung on to the diaper covers, and they are still in great shape. And I washed those. Seriously, what was I thinking?

I was thinking: I can't do this. No one has time to wash cloth diapers. I don't have the room to store them. I don't know what I'm doing.

Ha! Now I have two kids, and it's really easy to have Vi in cloth. It's even easier than a service. Besides, I get to pick out the cutest diapers for her and I get to use them again and again. (And they don't feel like they were baked by an industrial cleaning solution!)

Have ya met...?

I'm a fan of that show, How I met your mother. There's a point where one friend is trying to get another friend "out there" in the dating world. He say's "Hi, have you met Ted?" and then scampers off. I'm going to do that for you with the world of cloth diapers. I'm going to introduce you to a website that I have heard about and use myself. So, here we go:
Hi! Have ya met diaper pin? It's a site for cloth diaper reviews. Go explore.
But, REALLY go to the Sales and Announcements page. Seriously.

Enjoy.

Free Goodmamas

I'll just let Suzanne from Goodmamas spell it out:

With all the turned fitteds coming in, we are running out of room on ourshelves. Rather than overhaul our warehouse organization system, I'm bringing back the super-popular buy any two regular serged fitteds, getone free in a serged spectacular sale! http://www.thegoodmama.com/

The sale is calculated for the prices of the regular print and obvfitteds, so when you buy a cotton velour fitted, your savings is evengreater! Try it and see! And remember all goodmama diapers are made in the United States byfairly paid US workers, mostly women, from mostly US-made organic materials.

Not only are they good diapers, but you can feel good about them too,and now you can get them at fantastic prices. Stock up, you and your baby deserve it. With these prices you can have a nice big stash for a large laundry rotation. With these prices, there'sno reason not to try cloth diapering. With these prices, there's no reason not to have the best!

Yup. I think that says it all. Link one more time: http://www.thegoodmama.com/

Did you want those LIMITED EDITION BumGenius?

A friend of mine recently lamented the BumGenius Limited Edition with FLEECE because she thought she missed out on them. That's right Cotton Babies came out with a BumGenius with fleece instead of suedecloth. She then found them somewhere and bought 6. Great I said, but next time don't pay shipping. Even better, get a DEAL. Like this one:
If you get 6 BG Fleece diapers from KellysCloset.com, the total comes to $105. THEN, at checkout write "FREE BG Tee" and let them know if you have a boy or girl and indicate 2 sizes that you would be willing to accept.
So, that's means 6 diapers and one BumGenius tee or onesie, like the one below, all for $105. Come on, you know they have a good resale value. And they ARE Limited Edition.

My favorite diaper...

I love gDiapers! I do. Now, I know, some may say "but they're not REALLY cloth". Ah, well, now they are! There is now gCloth.

I can't wait to try these!!! Also, gDiapers has a new pack of little gPants (their diaper covers) - the everyday six-pack. Now, normally gPants retail for $16.99, but the six-pack is only $70. And of course, I wouldn't be doing you justice without a discount code. Use the code "g1140Bennetts" to get $30 off the everyday six-pack. That's 6 covers for $40. Not bad I say. If you add in the cloth inserts for $29.99 and the $9.95 shipping, you get 6 diapers for $80. The code is good until July 31st, 2009.

Oh, not a fan of gDiapers you say? Well, from what I hear, the inserts are perfectly sized for the pocket diapers out there too.

SmartiPants Discount Code!

SmartiPants, a new kid on the cloth diapering block is having their first sale! Well, okay, it's just a discount code, but what a way to try cloth diapers:
Buy a Smart-Start 3-Pack ($36.95)
Get 5% off with the code: FATHERSDAY2009 (good for today ONLY!!!)
Pay $5.95 shipping

Total cost per One-size pocket diaper: $13.68

The 5% code works on anything, but I have only tried it on the 3 pack. (Seems like the way to go, right?)

California residents must pay sales tax, which is why I only got the 3 pack. If you order more than one 3-pack, I'm not sure if your shipping will increase.
